Covenant Musicians Partners With Indieheaven To Launch A World Wide Song Search.

Independent Christian artists can submit their song for possible inclusion on promotional tools.

Franklin, TN 03.30.2009--Covenant Eyes is sponsoring a song search through IndieHeaven.com. The winning song will be used in professional video production. In addition the winning song-writer will receive a free year membership on Indieheaven.com and a free year membership to Covenant Eyes.

The theme of this song search is sexual purity. In a recent interview with Covenant Eyes, Phil Joel commented about the need for Christian musicians to address this issue head-on:

"We live in an over-sexualized culture. Purity: it's almost become a thing of the past, but it must be a thing of the present, and it must be what we live a walk in. As Christian musicians, as people who have been given a platform to share, purity has got to be something that we call people to.... I believe the Lord is raising up a liberating front in this day, in this age, for such a time as this. We must take our freedom seriously, we must take personal purity and holiness seriously, in order for us to be the men and women that God has designed us to be, and if we are going to be the agents of change that God wants us to be here on earth."

There is an onslaught of sexual temptations in our culture, from movies to TV, Internet to video games, commercials to magazine racks. Christians lose many battles with sexual temptation. Hollywood often shapes our understanding of sexuality and relationships more than Jesus. Covenant Eyes is looking for music that expresses the cry of our hearts for purity, for godly sexuality, and for a wholehearted commitment to God's standards.
