Did you know that Becky Wright, INDIEHEAVEN ARTIST, is not only a seasoned singer/songwriter and speaker, but she is also the mother of 10. No, I didn’t type that wrong:) She and her husband (Retired Navy Chaplain, and now Child Welfare Supervisor) have 10 children all together, including 6 grown children, 4 still at home, and 3 of the 10 are adopted. Becky serves as a passionate voice for children, particularly orphans and foster children. Did you know that The Kate White Band, INDIEHEAVEN ARTIST, over this past year, Kate White has had the incredible opportunity to be the worship director for 2012′s Mission ConneXion Conference held last weekend, January 20-21 at Crossroads Community Church in Vancouver, WA. The task was to put a skilled team of international worshippers together that could comprise our worship team and lead out in worship with different languages…Each member of the team either spoke two languages or grew up in a two language environment. They sang not only English worship songs but also worshipped in Arabic, Indonesian, Portugese, Italian, Native American and Indian. How cool is that? Taking the language of “worship” and utilizing the talents of God’s children to worship Him. Did you know that David Michael Carrillo, INDIEHEAVEN ARTIST, is an ordained minister & worship leader who has been a full time “Musicianary” since 1990 . Growing up, he faced the challenges of having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder,(ADHD), learning disabilities, and being rejected by his peers. In his new book called “Fearfully & Wonderfully Made”(My Christian Journey with ADHD), David Michael shares about the healing power of the Gospel that delivered him from the fear of people and self doubt that developed as a teenager and young adult. He has a heart & love for the country of Latvia & the Eastern European countries and works closely with East European Mission network outreaches.

This is David’s second year teaching in Latvia. Wow, this artist has a passion that is multi-faceted. His personal story is rock-solid proof of how God uses those of us they have had personal struggles in our life and how we can turn them into helping others who don’t believe they can get through their own struggles. Did you know Cameron, INDIEHEAVEN Artist, co-writes her songs with her husband. What makes this unique is that her husband, Jim, has no musical background whatsoever! She states it this way: ’0′. What an awesome rendering of God putting two of his children together and merging their gifts for His Glory. In Cameron’s own words, “Currently, Jim and I will spend many hours together writing, talking, praying, and working on new melodies and ideas of what we hear from our Father’s heart. We admit we cannot do this without Him. We love writing together! We have decided we’re hooked and there is no turning back to what life looked like before we started down this path. You see, we simply stumbled upon this idea of writing together one night….but that ….is another story for another time.” You see, it doesn’t always need to “make sense”. God has put an inner vision inside of each of us and when we have the desire to bring it all out to the surface for Him, you never know what will happen. Just ask Cameron! I want to introduce you to Dorothy Savage. Dorothy is an alumni of Indie University and attended my conference in 2009 (when it was called The CIA Summit.) Dorothy attended the conference to learn how to get going in her music mission. She came to gather information, meet other artists, and hear from God.

During the conference, Dorothy met one of my mentors, Ray Ware. Ray was a part of a panel of managers whom I had invited to share about management and when and why an indie artist would need management. Ray is no start up manager, Ray has been a part of the Christian music industry for years, and has managed Phil Keaggy, Bryan Duncan, Bob Carlisle (Butterfly Kisses), and Randy Stonehill.

Dorothy approached Ray at the conference and the rest as we shall say, is His Story! Dorothy and Ray started down the road to launching her music mission. Ray connected Dorothy to professionals who would pen songs for her debut CD, produce her music, create her branding, design her CD art, design her website, help her find live performance/ministry opportunities, publicize her news, create her promotional materials, and on and on!

I am so proud of Dorothy for her commitment to passion and excellence! I am happy Dorothy connected with Ray and that God is blessing the momentum they created! I look forward to seeing what God, Dorothy and Ray do in the future!

NASHVILLE, TN–FEBRUARY 15, 2010–INSPIRESONG ANNOUNCES FINALISTS AND WINNER OF THE INSPIRESONG SONG SEARCH
“Finalists and winner receives valuable services from former VP of WORD Publishing, Cindy Wilt Colville”

After reviewing hundreds of songs submitted by Christian independent songwriters worldwide, INSPIRESONG is excited to announce the 10 finalists and the winner of the INSPIRESONG Song Search.

Keith Mohr (president of Indieheaven.com) and Cindy Wilt Colville created the InspireSong Song Search and songwriter retreat. The song search was free to enter for Indieheaven members, and over 300 responded by submitting their best song.

Keith Mohr states, “InspireSong is a great way to us to discover and recognize songwriters who are pursuing excellence in their craft, and helping them improve their songwriting skills. The prizes awarded to our finalists and winner by Cindy Wilt Colville are sure to help songwriters define and refine their unique and diverse gifts and talents.” Finalists are awarded a personal 3 song evaluation, (valued at $500 each), and the winner receives a songwriter development package from Cindy valued at $1500.00

Mohr and Colville are also producing the first annual INSPIRESONG Songwriter Retreat, being held March 19-21, 2010 in near Nashville, TN. Limited to just 30 songwriters, the retreat will feature Colville, Dove Award winner Robert Sterling, Sam and Becky Mizell, Staci Frenes, and several other clinicians. As of February 15, 2010, there are 3 open registration spots left.

The 10 Final Songwriters are:
Gabriel, Donna Kay, Mark Stuckey, Brandon Scott Smith, Hannah Ford, Tricia Zody, Angela Donadio, Gene Ezell, Keith Elgin, Jamie (Howe) Wolf.

The Grand Prize Winning Songwriter is: Tricia Zody. Congrats to Tricia on her excellent song, “You Are My God.”

Mohr adds, “We congratulate our finalists and winner, and all who entered the contest. All are worthy of the gift given to them by the master creator. We encourage all to create for the love of co-creating with the creator and to enjoy the process!”
