My oh my, have our Indieheaven members been busy! We’re a site full of “Wanna-do’s” not “Wanna-be’s”! Look at what our members are Doing! We are super proud of our members who are working it!

New Projects Recently Released:
Zach Allen- Zach has done a great job on his new project, titled, Matter of Time. We met Zach a few years ago, he attended our Indie conference in Nashville, TN. He came all the way from California with his mom, dad and siblings. We saw tons of potential in Zach, he has a command of the blues that was way beyond his years! So, make sure to check out what Zach is up to now with his new project!

Dave Pettigrew- Dave is what we call a professional independent artist.. meaning he really works at his music mission! Dave is a World Vision artist, who shares about their mission in his concerts. Dave hails from Ridgeway, NJ and performs his music in his region. Dave is an excellent pianist, and his new project, “Solo, Volume 2″ showcases his excellent musicianship and impeccable vocals. Check it out and support Dave’s music mission. He gets all 100% of his sales of music on Indieheaven!

Kerensa Gray is another artist who attended our indie conference in Nashville several years ago, and whom we have had the pleasure to watch grow and go in her music mission. Kerensa is a Jazz vocalist, who sounds a lot like Billie Holliday. So, if you like jazz, you’ll love Kerensa! Her new project called, “Bliss” is now on her Indieheaven profile, ready to listen to and purchase.

Mike Westendorf- Mike is in the mixing stage (Indieheaven pres, Keith Mohr is mixing it for him, check out Water To Wine Music) of a new Christmas album, “Emmanuel Has Come”. Go to his Indieheaven profile to listen to some of the mixes!

Fields Of The Harvest- has spent the summer composing an entire orchestra score of an original Christmas song written last year. The song, called “Light of the World” will be performed live by a choir and orchestra on December 9th. Since it is part of the church’s Christmas concert, it will be recorded on CD and DVD.

Drew Davidsen- is busy working on a new smooth jazz project, “True Drew” scheduled for release in early 2013. Drew travelled from Baltimore to New York to record this album with top producers and musicians in the mainstream jazz world. We’ve watched Drew over the past 8 years literally change not only his music mission, but his life! Drew attended our indie conferences and is a student of the game. he is a classic example of the more you know, the more you’ll grow and go! Go Drew!

Each week we, at INDIEHEAVEN, want to share a little about one of the hundreds of unique artists at INDIEHEAVEN. Getting to know each other better is vital in being Independent Together.

Did you know, TOUCHPOINT, is now a Rescue Mission “reg”! The band has entertained twice during dinner for the guests of the Mission and once for a 2nd Helpings Gallery Artists Reception.

During dinner, they are scheduled to play 3 sets and stop by 7:15pm, but that is not what is happening. They are so popular, the guests continue to ask for “just one more song” and the band plays until the last guest leaves to go to Chapel.

With the backdrop of a 10’ trampoline painted as a smiley face, TouchPoint sings and smiles and praises God through their musical talents. The Rescue Mission is thankful and grateful to TouchPoint for reaching out in song and prayer to our guests.  

I love the fact that as musicianaries, this band is walking the talk outloud!

The 2011 INDIESONG OF THE YEAR contest was open to members of Indieheaven only, who submitted their songs to Indieheaven’s popular FANFAVES CHART during the months of September, October and November 2011. Fans listened to and rated their favorite songs, and the TOP 10 rated songs from each month made the Semi-Final round, which started December 1, 2011. Those 30 songs were listened to and rated by fans for the month of December 2011, and the TOP 10 rated songs made the Final Round.

The TOP 10 rated songs were then reviewed by a panel of judges and a grand prize winner selected and announced on February 1, 2012.

We have heard from quite a few independent artists of a booking scam going in where a church in England contacts the artist from out of the blue, extending an invitation to perform at their event. The catch is… the artist must have a work visa, and they can only get that from the church representative. Once the artist gives their account info to the rep, the rep cleans them out. Our advice… always check with others before falling for something that is too good to be true.. or contact us at Indieheaven and we’ll let you know if it’s legit or not.

We had the pleasure of attending the World Vision premiere showing of “Journey To Jamaa” this evening in Nashville. It is a story of 2 children from Africa whose mother died from aids and how their journey brought them to the Lord, and more! The music was provided by the band 1211, they were awesome!

I spent most of the day today updating the Indieheaven Blog to the latest and most secure version of WordPress, and the theme. The blog is now integrated with Facebook, which is very cool!
