New single coming soon! Subscribe To My News (RSS)(Click this icon to Subscribe)

I've been working on a new single this year and am so excited that it will soon be released!

"Nobody Sees" is a song inspired by the life of Kind David from the scriptures. When he was first chosen to be king, no one suspected he would be the one. He was just a shepherd boy out minding his sheep. When the prophet was doubtful about choosing him, God spoke and said "man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart".

God sees all of us. The good, the bad and even the dreams and plans He has for us. Our best reaction to this all-knowing God is to open up and let Him in and see all those deep parts of our souls that no one else can see.

Radio station playing my song Subscribe To My News (RSS)(Click this icon to Subscribe)

I was so excited to find out this spring that a local radio station is playing my single "That's What Faith Is All About".

I stopped by there today on my way home from a ministry event in the area and had a great visit with the radio programmer John Eby. He has been there since 1965 and I learned so much just by listening to him share what he looks for in music as he chooses the songs for their playlist very carefully!

Working my way through 22 books on songwriting Subscribe To My News (RSS)(Click this icon to Subscribe)

I'm currently working my way through a list of books that have been recommended to me by a conference I hope to attend in MO in October 2010 called "Write About Jesus". The list is 22 titles long!

I am on my third book right now and I'm really enjoying reading these resources! I just soak up this kind of thing like a sponge. It's really my desire to write music that has a strong message, as well as write some music that touches people in ways that make them laugh.

I started with "The Artist's Way", then "88 Songwriting Wrongs and How To Right Them". Now I'm working through "The Art of Writing Great Lyrics".

I'm hoping to get through all 22 books before October, but there's so much to digest - we shall see!

Well, the progress of the new instrumental CD is slow, but sure. The music is completely done, artwork needs a few changes and then it's off to the manufacturing company! I do have samples loaded now that you can listen to and you can download the mp3 version of the album.

Female Artist of the Year Subscribe To My News (RSS)(Click this icon to Subscribe)

I cannot even begin to say how much it meant to me to be awarded "Female Artist Of The Year" at the Saturday night 2009 MOMENTUM AWARD ceremony on March 28 at the CIA Summit. I have always loved these events and learned so much from them. I always take home with me all that I have learned and work hard throughout the year at applying what I learn and I have watched my music career blossom over time.

It is so nice to be affirmed by your peers and colleagues in the music industry. It was such an honor to receive the award because I know there are others working hard too and many deserving of the award. I went to the Summit a bit discouraged at how hard this journey can be, but receiving the recognition for all the hard work was such a blessing to me and gave me some very needed encouragement.

Thank you Keith!
