Business, business, business, this working?

The words of Unikitty from the Lego Movie were chosen to title this blog because they give a little insight to the "behind-the-scenes" workings of ministry, the business aspect. Being involved in ministry and missions costs time, heart & soul, and lots of money. Now, as "taboo" as money may be when discussing ministry, it is so vital. For some reason, there is this idea that a "faith-based ministry" is funded by God's divine waving of His hand to fill ministry and missions accounts. God certainly could, but thus far, that has not been His way of providing for Broken Vessels. Most often, God uses people. You might think, "Whoa there! I'm a people. You don't expect ME to give after reading this, do you?" Well, not necessarily, but God does have a peculiar way of doing business. You may find, after reading this, that you have $20, $60, or $100 dollars to spare. But, the bottom line of today's blog is that Broken Vessels' end goal is NOT meeting our monetary "bottom line." As Paul has said before, "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want." (‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭NIV‬‬) This ministry has seen many ups and downs. But, the Lord has been faithful to us. Who is this "us," you might ask? Broken Vessels is a ministry, band, missions organization, and for many people it is a family.
As such, we travel the world seeking to spread the love and light of Christ for the purpose of spreading the Gospel to those who need it (aka: everyone). Our mission, whether at home or abroad, is to seek (actively) and save the lost by introducing them to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This is the calling that God has put on our lives to accomplish, whether through music, actions, or spoken/written words. But, to do this, we rely wholly on the prompting that God puts on the hearts of those who believe in our God, our cause, and our ministry. Our faith has been stretched many times, as we have waited for the funds to "Go and Tell." But, God has never left us alone. Even in times of struggle, when doubt was crouching at our door, God would send messengers, a faithful few people, to encourage and support us in our hours of greatest need. Jeremiah 1.
I would like to encourage you to join me in reading 1 chapter a day through the book of Jeremiah. Let's focus in with a deeper meditation & see what the Lord shows us. We are not necessarily looking for the profound, but looking for the practical that will strengthen our daily walk with the Lord. Please post as the Lord gives you liberty.
For example, verses 18-19 struck a chord with me this morning. The Lord first tells Jeremiah who he is. Then basically states that everyone will fight against him. Yet gives him the hope needed for the task/battle- "they will not overcome you, for I am with you to deliver you."
I have personally seen & love how Christ Debriefs us about our task He calls us to, often through His Word, burdens & visions. Then He Describes to us the enemies tactics so that we are fully aware of our opposition. Yet He always reassures us on Who is actually carrying out this mission- Himself. He is in control. We can trust Him. We can walk in Confidence because He already has given us the Victory.

I must brag on Christ for a bit. We returned home Thursday night from China. Friday we traveled to Louisiana College for the State wide Preteen event. My family & I were so wore out. I had no voice for our sound check that day. Fighting jet lag & fatigue. That evening I was honestly trying to think of who I could call to fill in for me. I was feeling so bad that I would not be able to offer anything to these folks who have brought us in. I'm sure after they heard the sound check, they were wondering the same thing. Haha. I woke up every hour that night with this weird panic of "I'm late". Drove me nuts. So I drank probably 5 20oz bottles of water and had quite a few throat lozenges. However, I woke up that Sat morning, (day of the event) still without a voice. I tried singing in the shower & nothing. Alls I could do was pray. Needless to say, When it came time for the event (9am), It was there!! I was not shocked that God could do it, but I am amazed that He continues to do it. HE IS FAITHFUL!!
It was another great opportunity for me to share with my children the fact that it has very little to do with our abilities. I feel it has everything to do with our availabilities. If we are faithful to put ourselves in positions for Christ to receive the Glory, He is faithful to do what we cannot.
Place yourself in a position for God to work in & through your life. Stand & be amazed. He is Worthy. Are you willing?

I want to encourage you with this Word the Lord gave me today.
2 Chronicles 16:9
"For the eyes of the Lord move to & fro throughout the earth that HE may STRONGLY SUPPORT those whose heart is COMPLETELY HIS."
Let us not waiver in our Faith, brother. God is good & He is searching our hearts to see if it is completely His. His support is STRONG!! We need not worry ourselves of His provision, it is already promised us. (Phil. 4:19) We must continue to allow our hearts to be Broken & focused solely upon Him.
As J. Hudson Taylor once said, "Let us see that we keep God before our eyes; that we walk in His ways and seek to please and glorify Him in everything, great and small. Depend upon it, God's work, done in God's way, will never lack God's supplies."
My prayer: Lord, You show forth Your Power & Provision in what You have called us to do. For the Glory of Your Great Name!!

Wow! What a glorious response to the gospel we have seen this year thus far. Folks are surrendering to the call God has placed upon their lives, not only for salvation but to go where He leads. We are so thankful for those who have decided to partner with our ministry as monthly supporters. Without the constant love and support from these individuals, it would be extremely difficult. We have always believed the Lord for every one of our needs and He has proven Himself True and Faithful in every situation. Some of you may be wondering how you can become a monthly financial supporter of our 501c3 nonprofit ministry. Many of folks have asked us how do we get so many "gigs".

Well, Broken Vessels has always had a different approach than any artist we have met. I'm not saying we are the only ones who have taken this approach, I just haven't met any yet who do it like this, when it comes to booking. We haven't called around from place to place asking them to bring us in. We have no sales pitch really. :0) We simply placed our artistry and ministry in the hands of the One who called us to it. By this I mean, we feel the Lord has specificly called us to do what we do. Believing this, we follow some guidelines He has placed for us in His letter to us- The Holy Bible!
G- I Corinthians 10:31 "Whatever you do, do ALL to the Glory of God." Glorify the Lord!!
E- I Thessalonians 4:31 "You received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk & please God... That you may excel still more." Excel in instruction & skill
L- Psalm 37:5 "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in Him and He will do it." Let Him do it!!!
G.E.L. -ling has been the backbone of our ministry! I've heard it said "Where God guides He provides." and I believe it. If He has given us a message to share (which He has) and a burden to perform the task (which He has); then He will also give us the venues and places to carry it out (which He has continued to do for going on 11 years now). Our ministry's life verse is- Proverbs 27:2 "Let another man speak well of you and not your own mouth; a stranger and not your own lips." Our ministry has been a word of mouth ministry. If they were impressed with us, they tend to share such news with their friends and other colleagues in the ministry. We just try and let Matthew 5:16 remain true in our lives -Let them see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven!
**My final bit of advice on this matter would be this: "If it is His work, He will accomplish it!!" Thanks you and God bless.

Today God hit me all too hard in the face with the sad truth of how our Americanized Christianity is a slap in the face of Almighty God. I preached today to a group of 13 believers in India. In that entire village, 13 believers; who willingly stand, sing, and shout the mercies of God in the presence of their neighbors, in spite of the oppression and the persecution they currently face day by day from the Hindus.

I found it very hard to preach anything to them today. I was broken. Ashamed. The cost they have counted to be a follower of Christ is truly greater than any cost I had considered. How can that be? Can the cost of Discipleship be different in one place than another?

We tell ourselves - "All God wants is our willingness." Tell me if you have ever heard this: "God is calling you to be His disciple. But many of you are scared thinking He may send you to Africa. Truth is He probably won't, but you need to be willing." So we find ourselves ever willing but never doing.

People, 'the though't does not count in 'true Christianity'. We are rocking ourselves to sleep in a comfortable gospel. Many of us scared to open our mouths for the fear of rejection. Meanwhile, we have brothers and sisters laying down their lives to do so. Not just willing but doing. No matter the cost.

We need to realize, the price is still the same for us as is them - self abandonment. Quit committing things to Christ and just surrender. Go! Do! Make disciples! God, shake us! Break us! Grant us an understanding of the cost to be your disciple. Knowing You alone are our source. You alone are our Hope. Your grace is sufficient. To God be the glory!

God has said of His Son
Hebrews 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with the oil of gladness
above thy companions.
I love also how He tells us n what I call the Lord's prayer (John
17:13) -that they (believers) may have My (Jesus) joy made full
(complete, not lacking anything) in themselves.
**That to me is HUGE!!
That tells us that no matter where we r, no matter who is beside us,
no matter the circumstance r situation the joy of the Lord is that
very joy that we live, breathe, and move in. We have often heard that
we r to know and endure the sufferings of Christ. But moreso we r to
experience and know the Joy of the Lord n the midst of that suffering.
(1Thess 1:6)
We see Christ's example of this in Hebrews 12:2 - for the joy set
before Him He endured the cross.
*Remember for whom it is we suffer. Remember for whom it is we r
tempted. Remember for whom it is we r troubled. But remember why- so
we might be conformed, so He might receive glory, so believers may
receive encouragement, and so others who r dead in their sins may find
life!! So Others Might Live!!!
One final word- I believe it is an amazing thing when brothers and
sisters in Christ pray for us during our troubled times. But it drops
me to my knees each time I think of how the Lord, the God of Joy and
Peace and Comfort has and is praying that I would experience His joy
every moment of my life. To God b the Glory!!!

Next bit of info: We've been having a blast this summer! Camp after camp. Movement after movement. We ask that you continue to lift us up in your prayers. May we remain broken, usable, moldable, and sensitive to the Spirit. We at BV Ministries believe God is doing some extremely amazing things this year. What a journey it has been thus far and we aren't even close to what He is revealing!!
We are praying the Lord would bring us near you soon to worship with you guys. If you can help make that happen-Let's do it!!!
We are believing the Lord to finish this Album so it can release near the end of August. There are so many anointed people working on this project. God has already begun a buzz about it in areas we as a ministry have never been.
Also, We want you to specificly pray for us for the will of God to be done in the area of a fall tour. We are currently talking with Sonicflood about being part of their 10 year anniversary tour. We feel that it would be a neat deal, beings it is also our tenth year in the ministry as well. We just want the will of God to be done there.

We are having an amazing time here in Jacksonville area. God moved this weekend and spoke to me personally on soe issues, so even if He had not spoken to anyone else, Praise Him for His faithfulness to speak to me. I really enjoyed meeting all the students of North Jacksonville Baptist Church. The youth pastor, Bro. Andy Jackson is doing an amazing job with the students. We also had the privilege of Josh Reavis showing off his wicked guitar skills on stage with us this weekend. Seriously, he did a fantastic job! I think the greatest treat for me this weekend was getting to hear Dr. Herb Reavis preach the Word of God. The man does not back down or hold any punches back. I am looking forward to someday soon getting back there and worshiping with them again.
Another great thing is I am only having to travel about an hour or so to the next engagement-WOOHOO!!! I am heading on over to Fleming Island, FL for 3 days, Mon-Wed. I am really praying God use me in a mighty way however He sees fit to do so. I am going to serve and ask that you pray the Lord give me the strength to accomplish what He has laid out before me. I will be with another great friend of mine Bro. Jeff Stockdale at Hibernia Baptist Church. If any of you have opportunity to come on out and hang with me, that would be awesome.
Well, God bless you guys and I truly hope He will use you to minister to someone else today. Remember, Jesus never had a me before you attitude! LIVE LOVE!!!!!!!!

Wow!! I could not go to sleep. So i figured I would take some time to tell you how you guys have made me feel. Over the past 2 months I have never had so much support and love from everyone just rallying around and spreading the love for BV. It truly is overwhelming to know that there are so many folks who love and believe in this ministry. From VA over to TN down to TX and then back on over to FL, and ALL in between. God is doing some amazing things! I can't wait to see what He continues to do. I am very excited about our next event coming up in Laurel, MS. Then going straight from there on over to Dr. Herb Reavis' church in Jacksonville, FL for a few days. Truth is, I haven't even gotten over the past few weeks!! The excitement has yet to stop. It's almost as if it has yet to sink in, what has actually taken place. I am hearing stories of how many of you came to the concert with a friend, not even liking Christian music, yet leaving saying "that was so awesome, Christian music is cool and BV is now my favorite band." WOW!! Then the encouraging stories of "last time i heard you guys y'all were great, but y'all have gotten even better!" That, my friends, is what we are striving for. Excellence!! Excellence of Music, Excellence of Ministry, to match the Excellence of the Message God has entrusted to us!!! Please continue to pray for and support this ministry in any and every form the Lord leads you to. Bless you guys. May God continue to lead and guide you every step of the way!! Proverbs 3:5-6

Well, I am excited about the fact of going finish up the final vocals on the new cd. My oldest daughter Kaytlun will be singing backup on the new disc as well. I am a HUGE fan of hers. I strongly feel God will use her much more than He has ever used me. But then again, I feel that way of all my children in some form or another. The glory of God filled the place with His presence. It was a lot of F U N !! Yes, it is so much fun to be with other believers praising a Holy God and have a great time in the Lord. We are still getting reports of what God has done through this weekend. All the Glory goes to the Father who is ever Faithful. We look forward to someday soon worshipping with this group again. Thank you Bro. Ryan Cooper for inviting us and entrusting us to lead out in worship and praise.
We also want to thank Jarrod Jones for "Bringing It"!! Man, I really like this guy. He doesn't beat around the bush. Thank you for being faithful to preach the Word, Brother. Looking forward to working and serving with you again in the near future. I tell you what, he is a "backwards" guy if I've ever saw one!!! B^D
God has been showing me personally of a great work He is desiring to accomplish through the ministry of Broken Vessels. This is a quick update for those of you who have been praying for the health and well being of Tory's little ones. We were able to remove the stitches from Haley's chin and all looks well. Also, about the penny swallowing episode with Elayne, we went to the specialist yesterday to see what procedures and steps we needed to take to remove it. Praise the Lord, when they took another x-ray, it was gone!!! Needless to say we are very excited for that news.
Please continue to pray for us and Broken Vessels as the Lord is opening many opportunites for us to minister and also has provided opportunity for us to begin our next album. As of right now, if the funds become available, we may even be able to release the new album as early as April. Hi folks. I bet most who read this title won't even read the blog. I imagine their minds thinking, "how shocking?! A ministry wanting to talk about money." LOL!! Well, yes this is a piece about money however it is not a request for such. So if you have read this much thus far-Thank you!! As you may have read in the last blog, I was able to go to Nashville and begin recording another album. I AM SO PUMPED!!! My wife and I's anniversary was this past Saturday. We were blessed to be doing the music for a DNOW in Moss Point MS, so we were really not alloted any time particularly for her and I to celebrate it. Anyway, I have been blessed with the MOTHER of all mothers. She knew i would be heading to TN for 2 r 3 days and said, "Baby (I luv that), Momma would love to keep her grandbabies so you and Missy(what she calls my wife) can go enjoy some time alone together." WOW!!! Now for those of you who know me personally or even know enough about me, you know THAT IS HUGE!!! For those of you who do not know me (yet) my wife and I have six AMAZING children. Yes 6!!! Yes AMAZING!!! They range from 11 down to 4 yrs old. OK, I'll try to start getting where i was heading with this. While we were enjoying ourselves with a "Star Studded" trip in a couple of Studios, a little incident occured back home. My mom who loves me sooo much (presumably more than my other brothers) reluctantly tells me (cause she didn't want to ruin my trip) that Elayne found a penny on the floor. She as anyone would have done, tells her to put it in her pocket. Well, a lil later on Elayne taps her on the leg and says, " I swallowed a penny!" My mom at this point starts freaking out, runs into her bedroom, tells my dad, "Doobie(yeah I know wierd, but that is what she calls him), Elayne swallowed a penny." He jumps up and hollers, "Call 911!!" Now I am receiving all of this info from her on the phone, but it was even funnier to hear later from the other five of my kids who were much more animated with their story telling. But they added that my lil brother Rick, who "used to be a doctor"(not true but for some some reason they thought so), was just running around "like a crazy man". What makes this story so funny is that I can see it all unfolding just like that. HA!! Well, the ambulance came, she drank some milk. The penny, she said, "went down". Well, today we got to see on the xrays, it still has yet to "come out". So, when we asked her why she did it, she began saying that "Obama has totally freaked me out about the economy, and i was gonna start storing up for in case we can never climb out of this." OK, u know my 5 yr old didn't say that. Any of you with kids know already what her response was-"I don't know" with a cute face and a shoulder shrug. Well, I will wrap this up by saying please pray for her. We will try and better explain to her the concept of "a penny saved is a penny earned." However, the hope that we have is that the Word of God tells us-"This too shall pass!!" Thanks guys. God bless.

Hey guys. We thank you so much for your constant prayers. We are currently in Baton Rouge, LA the home of THE LSU Tigers. LOL. Bro. Collin of Parkview Baptist Church has allowed us to come in and team up with Bro. Wade Morris of AL to share the Word of God in both song and preaching for a Spiritual Emphasis Week at their church and school. This morning we had an awesome time getting to hang out with the nearly 1000 students(7-12 grade). It was encouraging to hear the hearts of so many students desiring God to do a work in their lives personally. Bro. Wade is doing a tremendous job of dividing the Word of God and we believe it is truly beginning to stir up hearts of the broken and call out the hearts of those who do not know Christ. 2009 is here and God is already pouring out his blessings! The doors are continuing to open for ministry opportunities. So many exciting things are happening in the lives of Broken Vessels and we are looking forward to an amazing year in the Lord. This past year, the Lord blessed Broken Vessels with a 15 passenger van, a 7X12 cargo trailer, a new CD - "Unashamed", a new sound board, and plenty of wonderful fans!

Tory has been writing new songs and is hoping to begin working on a new project soon. He's also written a 3rd verse to "Because Jesus Lives" at the request of Dr. Shane for Caylee Anthony's family. They hope to make this version available to you soon.

"It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday...." Okay, not so much. It sure makes it easier knowing God has so much more instore ahead for this ministry. He is continuing to pour out new songs, open more dates, affirm past relationships and establish new ones. We did have an amazing summer, however we cannot live on yesterday's "manna". Please continue to pray for the hundreds of decisions made for Christ this summer. Pray the enemy will not be able to move in and snatch away what God has planted in the hearts of these people. Pray for Spiritual growth for each new believer. Also, continue to lift us up. We feel well spent and are trusting the joy of the Lord to be our strength. We are so looking forward to the future and what God already has begun to put into motion. I will be updating you soon to the events and dates coming up. Many remain tentative but moving forward. Life is not a game!! That was the theme for our camp this week. Dry Creek Baptist Encampment in Dry Creek, LA, is a beautiful place. The staff this year did a tremendous job. I recommend you take your group there at least once to see what it is like for yourselves. Bro. Acton Bowen did great challenging these young students with the Word of God to realize each choice we make helps determine where we will be and how we will end up. New Hope Baptist Church in DeQuincy, LA did spectacular providing Bible study teachers for the week. The students were an amazing group of kids who loved to sing. Many decisions were made for the Glory of God and we are trusting you will help us remember these in prayer. Some of the funny things happening this week: First off- meeting Wink Winkler!! What an amazing talent. Another funny thing was having so many 9-13 year olds tell us "my two favorite bands are Hannah Montana and Broken Vessels!!" Wow!! What an honor! Anyway, as you can gather, we had a blast. Please pray for us as we are going into Back 2 School camp starting Monday. Thank you all again for your prayers and God bless!

We had an amazing time worshiping with the high school and college students of Sulphur, LA. We had the privilege of working with He delivered the Word of God with the boldness of the Spirit and lives were challenged and changed. After that event ended Fri. nite we drove over to Gulfport, MS to Campground Baptist Church to finish out their "Standing Strong" camp on Sat. and Sun. There we had the privilege of serving with Bro. Melvin Mordecai. We learned that we ought not be a "Fainting Goat"!! Well, Praise the Lord souls were changed forever for the glory of God in those meetings as well. Now, we are driving over to Dry Creek, LA for three weeks of camp starting today. We will be leading the worship for the Preteen I, Back 2 School, and Preteen II camps. Well, you guys know how it started out, but the way it finished is even better!!! God moved all week. We were able to really engage with the students and hear their hearts. More than just worshiping together, relationships were able to be built. Many decisions were made for Christ. Some were for salvation, some surrendered into the ministry, and many recommitted their lives to the Lord. Please continue to pray for the students of Madison Street and the community of Starke, FL. Thank you again for your prayers and support. We were able to celebrate the life we have found only through the love and grace and mercy of Christ Jesus who actually found us. Hey guys,
I know it's been a lil while since I last blogged but I guess I kinda had that approach we sometimes take in our prayer lives; you know, only speak when we think it is important. Talk about telling off on yourself. Forgive me first off for that. Secondly, the issue I am writing about is this: We are doing a camp right now in Lake Yale, FL. In the midst of setting up our sound system, we hear whaling from a young lady. She can barely breath. We, at that moment, are wondering what on earth is going on. Then she is followed by the church group from Madison Street Baptist Church from Starke, FL. Many of them have the same expression on their faces as we did. Our good friend Bro. Jeff Stockdale, the youth pastor there, comes in, gathers everyone around and shares with them the news that a very dear friend of theirs was just killed in a car accident with his mother as well. Oh my, to describe the moment following such an announcement is too complicated. My heart sunk. You know, you don't leave for camp, pumped, fired up, excited, and expect to hear of anything like this. Yet this is what we are facing this week. I can tell you this. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Student after student began to share how they had received numerous texts from him all throughout the day. Letting them know he is praying the Lord speak to them this week. Many began to share how "just last night he told me he loved me". I tell you what, it was an unexpected turn of events. You think you have it planned out how God is desiring to use you this week and then suddenly you are left wondering- "Sweet Jesus, what do we do with this." Just in the AWESOMENESS of ALMIGHTY GOD, He then speaks peace to your heart, gives you direction, and shows you exactly how to minister in this time and assures you that it didn't catch Him off guard. What a Mighty God we serve!! I thought back to what my pastor said just yesteday- "Has it ever occured to you that nothing has ever occured to God?!" Praise the Lord, He moved in on the scene in power, changed lives, strengthened hearts and we saw the hand of God. Please, please remember this church family in your prayers. Please remember us as we minister along with Bro. Larry Grays to these students. God bless you all and hope to hear from you soon.
One last thing, the father of this boy, who is the husband of the sweet lady, called and addressed the group of students by speaker phone and encouraged them to keep their heads up and their eyes on Christ. Reminding them that the Lord Jesus Christ is Sovereign and He reigns. What a testimony!!
Therefore church, be encouraged for your God IS in control. Praying for you all. To God be the Glory!!!!!!

Well, we are getting excited about our up and coming camps throughout TX, FL, and LA. It's that time of year where kids are pumped about being out of school and ready to get rid of those school blues by hanging out with friends, singing, shouting at the top of their lungs, and being challenged by the Word of God. We are praying for each student who will be attending these camp meetings and trusting God to do an amazing work. Would you please keep them and us in your prayers as well?!
I (Tory) did have the awesome opportunity this past weekend to baptize my son Rylee. What a moving experience it is when you get to lead your son or daughter to the Lord and see them follow in Believer's baptism. How cool is this?!! Broken Vessels has made the cover of featured with the likes of "Red" and "33Miles". What an honor. It blew my mind when Phil Baquie called and said, "(Krikey!!) Dude check it out!!" I was traveling to pick up my boys from MS at the time and couldn't get internet access; so I had called a couple of close friends of mine to check it out for me. They read me the article and I was in awe!! There is a pretty sweet article written of our winning the "2008 Worship Artist of the Year" and partnering with Mission of Mercy. Bro. Keith Mohr from Indieheaven gave us a pretty cool quote as well. What an honor it is to serve with him in this mission of helping out indie artist. His passion and commitment is excellent. Humbling, humbling experience. We were blessed to be a part of this Vision trip with Mission of Mercy. What a joy it was to see the smiling faces of boys and girls in Honduras. So happy to see us. We met the Directors from three of the Mercy Centers in Tegucigalpa. They were so proud of the fact that they were called by Mission of Mercy to serve with the local church and impact the lives of the children in their own community. The directors were excited about showing us the financial books of how they are stewards with what the Lord has provided for them to minister. That in itself spoke volumes to me. 'Cause no doubt that is a big question we receive from audience members interested in sponsoring a child. "How do I know this child is getting the money?" By the way, that is a very good question to ask when being a steward of what God has blessed you with. Well, for one, I have seen the children who are receiving it. Secondly, I have witnessed the work being done in their lives. Third, they keep records of everything sent out through the center. I have seen it with my eyes. Also what my wife and I got to see with our eyes is the child we sponsor- an eight year old boy named Able. What a blessing. He is going through the program currently and is surrounded with the love of Christ. He was so excited when we gave him a picture of his "American brothers and sisters." He was learning their names and ages and could not wait to write them a letter. It is truly a blessing to know that God has given us this opportunity to sponsor a child for only $30 a month. If you or someone you know would like to learn more of sponsoring a child. Hello everyone. We are alive and in Tegucigalpa. We will be meeting the Mission of Mercy staff who are stationed here in Honduras to discuss the weeks' events. It was a decent flight. Take that back, we landed. It was an awesome flight. The turkey sandwich, however, another story. Wow!!! Isn't it great to know that we serve a risen Savior?!! I was just reading in I Cor. 15 and I always get encouraged by this passage. I hope you realize that as powerful as the cross is without the resurrection our faith is worth nothing. As it plainly states in verse 17 "our faith would be in vain and we would still be lost in our sins." I love how Paul also stated that you and I (as messengers for Christ) would be false witnesses and our preaching would be in vain if Christ were not raised from the dead. We would be liars!! But praise the Lord, Paul goes on to tell us in Verse 20 "But now Christ has been raised from the dead"... so we are not false witness; we are not preaching in vain; we are no longer lost in our sins; and the gospel has been made complete (Full Gospel:death,burial,and resurrection-nothing added to or taken from) So continue on in what He has done and what He has called you to do!! Not looking to ourselves for wisdom and strength but looking to the Author and Finisher of our Faith!! Let your focus remain on knowing Him and making Him known!! God bless. To God be the Glory!!!

I have had alot of folk enquire about this song and how it came about. I have also had numerous people ask if they would be able to use it in their congregational worship services. Of course. I am extremely honored that God would allow me to write such a song for one; but just as honored that He uses it to speak to the hearts of His children and causes them to desire to worship with it. Feel free to sing it till it has served it's purpose in your life; believing that it will meet someone else right where they are. They will no doubt use it in their lives till it serves it purpose and so on. But here is the history of the song:
I could not go to sleep one night. Tired but restless. Just felt in my heart that the Lord wanted to tell me something. So I grabbed the tool He uses to speak to each one of us-The Bible, and went to the kitchen table and just began flipping through. I was reading all the highlighted verses that He had spoken to me through once before. When I got to Jer. 18, I felt His leading to study deeper into the passage. After studying it He lead me over to 2 Tim. 2:21. As a contrast and as a continuation of study of being broken. So this song was given to me in a study of brokeness before God. How in Jeremiah 18:1-6 God physically breaks us down to show us the sin in our lives but how He builds us back up into who He wants us to be. Therefore we need not be afraid. Hince the second verse of "Broken Vessel". The first verse came from 2 Tim. 2:21 When God was showing me in my study that we don't have to wait till that point where God has to personally break us to get our attention and to deal with the sin in our lives. We can be so focused on pleasing Him that we remain broken over our sin; dealing with it as soon as the issue arrives; walking in repentance and finding ourselves in a position where God is able to use us for His good work. With the application of John the Baptist's message to the multitude in Luke ch. 3 - bring forth fruit worthy of repentance. Anyway I just wanted to share with you the aspect of how this song came about with hopes that it may draw you to a more intimate worship with God through His word being revealed. I found the best way for me to worship God is to speak and sing the Words He has spoken. Well, Take care and God bless you and your efforts.

Things are going really well. God sometimes will take an opportunity to flex His strength and allow us to see how awesome He is. We are in the middle of a meeting and we also share at the private Christian school here during the day for their chapel hour. It happens to be the largest private school in LA. Anyway, I figured a "Christian" school, the majority would be Christian. However, yesterday morning we saw the greatest move of God we've seen here in the U.S. 218 students gave their lives to Christ for the first time. AMAZING!! There were just shy of 900 High School students in attendance. So for this meeting as of right now we have seen over 250 born again into the Kingdom of God. This morning after we interviewed with the journalism class (which was awesome), the pastor of the church (church has the school) came and gave us a check. We at first assumed it was the love offering. It was for $4000. We were like WOW!! Then he said that was actually from an anonymous gentlemen in the church who wanted to give each family in our ministry $1000. So the love offering has yet to be accounted for. Brother that is God flexing His muscles. Truth be told, we found ouselves in a spot where we were praying for a miracle like that to happen. I won't speak for all the guys, but I was praying for a full thousand dollars this week to pay our rent which we were almost a few weeks late for already. So my mighty God decides to give that in addition to the love offering. "Lagniappe" as we call it here in LA. "Undeserved" is what a child of God calls it! But not just for me and my family, but for each family!! Wow!! It is our last night tonight so please lift us up in prayer as we just let God do what He alone can do. The speaker we are working with is Jay Lowder. Not the atheist guy. He is really doing a great job presenting the gospel. Lift His minstry up in prayer as well. To God be the Glory!!

We just recently had a friend of ours email us this: "Stay humble and don't forget about the little people when you become a famous superstar." For some reason, that seems to be a point of view most people share when God begins to open doors for His servants. I felt the need to share with him that Jesus Christ is the "Superstar". We are His Lois Lane. We can't help but find ourselves falling in love with Him more and more each day. We often find ourselves in certain situations of distress needing desperately for Him to come to our rescue. And for some reason, we've been placed in the position and given the opportunity to publish the good news of all He has done for us and what He can do for others as well. And after all this, we still fail to realize that He disquises Himself as someone else in our lives; encouraging us; and building us up. Sadly, we often take for granted these certain people.
May God open our eyes to fully see His hand at work all around us and may we take full advantage to share the "Good News" of who He is, what He has done, and what He desires to do. II Peter 3:9. To God be the Glory!!!!!

I was so wanting to do a blog of "Laffy Taffy" jokes. One i really like is:
Q- "What has 2 banks but no money?" A- a river
We've dicovered the answer could also be "the Dardar family". We have a bank account in MS and LA and neither has money. HA!!!!
Anyway, when thinking over doing this the Lord impressed on my heart that this issue of money is of extreme importance to everyone. Sadly money can become the driving force behind what we do and why we do it. So I wanted to share a quote with you to encourage myself and those who will read this (all 3 of you).
**A man of modest income said to a man who was very rich, "I have more than you have." The rich man said, "How is that so?" He said, "Because I have all I want, and you don't."
As my pastor often states-"Don't listen to what I'm not saying". This is not a blanket statement describing all rich folk. However I would like to take some time and give you scripture to help us keep our focus where it should be-JESUS!!!!!
1 Tim. 6:6+8- But Godliness with contentment is great gain.... and if we have food and covering, let us be content.
Prov. 15:16- Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasure and turmoil with it.
Lastly my favorite: Heb. 13:5- Let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you." Praise the Lord!!
God I pray that you allow us to simply rely and trust in what you are doing. Remember folks, when you are at a point where you have no idea when and where the Lord will provide from- He always does! To God be the Glory!!!!!
