Last weekend, my husband Sal and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary by spending it in Julian, CA.

Its a quaint little tourist town in the outskirts of San Diego (nestled in the mountains), with an old-fashioned country charm about it. The bed & breakfast has a radio from the 1930's, an old wallphone from the 1800's, hurricane lamps, and an old wood-burning stove in the reception area. The parlor has an old upright piano; they have tea-time every evening at 5:00. The bedrooms are all very small -- just big enough for a queen-sized bed, a small armoir, and an
old-fashioned bureau. Lots of pillows on the beds, and on each bureau, there's an antique pitcher and bowl set sitting on top of a (probably hand-knit) doily. Makes you grateful we don't have to use these, but I think they make a great decoration. Some mornings, you can wake up to hearing the clip-clop of a horse-drawn carriage driving by.

And the apple pies Julian is famous for are the best anywhere!!

I'm concerned about my brother's mother-in-law residing in Japan where a huge tsunami and earthquake hit earlier today.

My Dad Subscribe To My Blog (RSS)(Click this icon to Subscribe)

Every little girl grows up considering her dad to be a hero. Even as a grown up, I have great memories of my dad teaching me how to ride a bike, taking me to piano recitals, etc. I just returned from Arizona where he resides. Dad got released from the hospital yesterday and is now resting at home. My dad wasn't the kind of man you would see in church. The bar was his hangout. Instead of a Bible in his hand, my dad had a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other. He is laying in a hospital issued bed in his living room, with a tube in his nose and an oxygen tank nearby. A member of Hospice came by.... The doctor said it wasn't a matter of months, but of weeks.
Before I left, I told him that the Bible says "If you say 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you can be saved."
Dad said " 'Jesus is Lord' and I believe..." No one else noticed, but I saw a miracle right then.

anniversary 8-14-08 Subscribe To My Blog (RSS)(Click this icon to Subscribe)

Today is my 3 year anniversary with IndieHeaven. I've met some wonderful people through this site - many Christian brothers and sisters from all over the U.S. that I wouldn't normally have a chance to know. Even though some are no longer members of IH, we still stay in touch via e-mail.
God has done so many wonderful things. Some I didn't really understand until later. If I was in danger or just wasn't producing fruit, he removed me from places where I didn't need to be. Lately, I've been busy writing, recording and looking for other songwriters to collaborate with. Please pray for the Lord's continual guidance.
God bless you and your family.
